Recommended that you water daily in the early morning. By doing this the turf can take up the water needed for that day and have all day to dry out thus preventing night time moisture diseases.

Watering To Reduce Disease Problems In Your Turf

Watering a second time during the heat of the day with enough water to reach the soil surface. Doing this allows you to cool the soil temperature and reduce heat stress on the turfgrass plant.(Done only during the heat of the summer)

Home lawns of bluegrass or bluegrass mix like to be mowed at 2 1/2" to 3" in height. Mowing too short can put stress on turf making it more susceptible to disease problems. As the weather cools, lawns may be cut shorter.

Mulching clippings is one of the best things you can do for the turf. As long as you follow the 1/3 leaf tissue rule(mowing off ONLY 1/3 the total leaf tissue at a time). Mulching returns a lot of moisture and nutrients to the turf, not to mention the organic matter that is also returned.

Grubs can be controlled in two ways: either by a contact insecticide applied when grubs are actively feeding or by a grub preventer that is applied in mid to late June and effects the eggs from hatching thus controlling grub population for the season.
